She works closely with accounts, adjusters and field case managers, depending upon the scenario, to negotiate very steep, aggressive and long-lasting discounts with providers for all types of goods and services. She is familiar with reviewing and discounting out-of-network services; identifying miscoding or cost shifting; or working prospectively with field case managers on cases that may be catastrophic, complex or chronic in nature to develop long term discounted pricing agreements with providers for the life of the file or client need. Her efforts can affect pricing for any service such as infusion therapies; home health care; nursing services; pharmaceuticals; DME; surgeon fees; and outpatient surgical centers, etc. She works in conjunction with and parallel to any bill review program.
