A “core value” of ALARIS is “Commitment to Community.” We feel that our business has flourished and that we have benefited from unselfish acts of employees, clients, and customers. We have a sense of obligation to give back to our communities in order to benefit those communities. The following are examples of our “giving back:”

Since ALARIS’ inception in 2000, rather than giving traditional Holiday gifts to our customers, we make donations to several charitable organizations each year. Normally, our employees suggest worthy charities and then a final list is chosen. Whenever possible, our focus is to choose organizations who serve children, women, and the disabled. 2007 is a bit different. 35W is a major artery running north and south through the middle of Minneapolis, MN. On August 1, 2007, a major bridge on the highway spanning the Mississippi River collapsed during rush hour. Dozens and dozens of vehicles went crashing into the river. Gratefully, less than 20 people lost their lives, but hundreds of thousands were impacted. As a result ALARIS has chosen to give their entire holiday donation to the Minneapolis Chapter of Red Cross.

Hearts & Hammers - Hearts & Hammers - Twin Cities, Inc., is a private non-profit organization, serves local communities by organizing volunteers to rehabilitate the homes of homeowners so they may continue living in a home of warmth, security and pride. They rely on a strong pool of volunteers and the financial support of local organizations like ALARIS.

On Saturday September 20, 2008 ALARIS was involved with Hearts & Hammers for the 6th year. Thank you to the owners Nancy, Kandi, Chris, Cheryl & Jane for making a generous donation. This year’s participants were: Becky & Jeff Swanson, Kim, Jon & Trevor Berkley, Kim & Jim Schuweiler, Mike & Rob Otos, Cheryl Sanmartin, Christi, John, Logan & Jace Newell, Mary Beth Solum & Lanette & Mick Elder. We renovated the outside of Roberta Madison home in St. Paul, MN. Bobby’s home got a fresh coat of paint, trim work around her shed, some new siding and landscaping. Photos from this year.

One of our Wisconsin employees donated 10 days of her time to be part of a medical mission team to Guatemala. The team served individuals in the remote mountain villages of Guatemala providing them with much needed basic medical care.

One of our Waukesha, WI employees and her husband volunteered for “The Wisconsin Relay for Life”. This is a celebration in honor of and in memory of those touched by cancer. The money raised helps fight the disease, and pays for education and research. The Waukesha event produced over $93,000 in revenue.
